A letter from the Geist Lake Coalition:
Thanks for your participation in this years aquatic weed and algae treatment program, that said, I need your help today! Can you please be your own street monitors for yard clippings in the street, encouraging your friends and neighbors to blow into their yards, not the street?
As you l know, the storm drains go right into the reservoir, and the phosphorous from the yard clippings blown into your streets throughout your neighborhood is feeding the algae and aquatic weeds. Allowing this to be tolerated only works directly against all the treatment efforts and your own monies invested in keeping your area of the reservoir clean!
Many Thanks Again!
